The Menehunes ( pron. men-eh-HOO-neez) you see here are the dream-children of Benjamin Lucas.
Their appearance is the vision of artist, Anton Uhl.

After a life-threatening voyage on a sailboat from Hawaii to the mainland and a conversation with dolphins, Benjamin was inspired to create an original tale completely of his own invention with these magical creatures (only loosely related to traditional Hawaiian legend.)

Benjamin Lucas
Original concept, characters & story
Benjamin is a man of profound values, powerful convictions, and a tremendous imagination.
This father of three is a builder in every sense of the word. He is committed to the contribution of improvements in all that touches his life. Benjamin's journey has taken him from being former employee of 3-mile Island, Playboy's first male rabbit, the runner-up contender in the last race against (L.A.) District 4's late City Councilman, a building contractor, a sculptor, founder of Laurel Canyon's annual Laurelpalooza and a dreamer of the extraordinary... but more-so, a pursuer and manifestor of these dreams.

Who would have believed anyone who said they were going to Bali to carve a giant totem pole with 4 of Rock's greatest icons?
The 14 ft. high, white mahogany Peace Totem depicts Jim Morrison, John Lennon, Janis Joplin and Jimi Hendrix. It was recently moved into the American Visionary Art Museum in Baltimore.

Bring on the Menehunes!
